Jeremy Umbaugh

Jeremy Umbaugh
Jeremy Umbaugh first came to Honduras in 1993 on a short tem mission trip to Escuela El Sembrador, an educational and vocational school for underprivileged Honduran boys. While he was in the country, he began to feel God challenging him to serve in Honduras for a longer period of time. He returned to the country as a six month volunteer and spent two months on the island of Roatan and four months at El Sembrador.

After completing his volunteer work, Jeremy returned to the United States to continue his college education. Due to an illness, he was not able to finish the school year. He decided to return to Honduras as a volunteer for one year at El Sembrador. At the end of the year however, he still felt God calling him to serve in Honduras. He raised funds in the United States with plans on serving for one year at Project Manuelito, a ministry through the Honduras National Church for the street kids of Honduras. Once he became involved in Manuelito, the kids captured his heart, and he dedicated the next eight years of his life to the project. He spent his time assisting in the development of the project, forming lasting relationships with the kids and organizing projects for work teams.

Jeremy recently finished his college education and transitioned into another ministry in Tegucigalpa.  Jeremy is working directly with the Natinal Church to develop online Bible courses.  The online seminary is already functioning with a pilot course and over 20 students enrolled.
