I was called to missions while serving as a volunteer (headquarters staff member on loan) in Honduras in 1987. I first came to Honduras in September 1985 as a volunteer, and I stayed until September 1988. I had received my missionary appointment in June 1988 and so returned to the U.S. in September to do my first deputation and 8 months of language school in Costa Rica. I returned under my missionary appointment to Honduras in December 1990. My past ministries have included WGM field treasurer, Virginia Sapp Christian High School teacher of business classes in English, and discipleship. My current ministries are WGM field treasurer, coordinator of the Ministry of Missions at the Roca Fuerte Church, discipleship teacher, treasurer of AMSLA (Latin America Missionary organization), and treasurer of the national church. My greatest joy in serving as a missionary in Honduras is building relationships and watching those folks grow in their walk with the Lord. I believe that the Great Commission of Christ is for all believers. He commands us to “Go,” and for me that has meant going to another culture and helping people to grow in their walks with the Lord and to “Go” themselves.
