Now nine years old, Project Manuelito is a Christian ministry that serves children living on the streets. Having been a street kid himself, Pastor Jorge Pinto led his church, “Amor y Vida” (Love and Life) Evangelical Church, in a project to help get kids off the streets. Project Manuelito works with boys and girls between five and twelve years of age. Project Manuelito’s vision is to see a Honduras without children living on the streets or being mistreated; and that the ones on the streets today be rescued and integrated in a process of becoming professionals to become involved in the development and productivity of our country. Their mission statement says that Project Manuelito “serves children who are on the streets of Honduras by providing them a healthy, stable and abundant education growth, taking God’s message as a fundamental tenant so that these children can be rescued and formed with values that help them become integrated as ‘new’ people.” |
