Semana Santa or Holy Week is celebrated in a variety of ways here in Honduras. But, for the missionaries, it means a time of annual meetings. We use the time to share what has happened in our ministries, pray for one another, and look forward to planning for the next year. With several missionaries on the field, we often send someone off to begin their Home Ministry Assignment (HMA) or celebrate the graduation of missionary kids (MKs).

Duane Dunbar & Chris KlemanThis year is no different. The Dunbar family will be leaving us the end of May to begin their time of fund-raising in the States. They plan to be gone from the field for one year. We celebrated with a despedida or good-bye party. Their son, Duane, as well as Chris Kleman will graduate from high school in May. We had a graduation party for them. Duane has been accepted to study at LeTourneau in Texas, and Chris will study at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana.

As missionary reports were read, each couple was prayed for. We also read our ministry reports. A few major decisions were made, such as the need for each missionary unit to pay more into the field-housing fund. At this point, each missionary family will pay in an additional $150 per month starting now. This is above what the missionary raised while on HMA, so please be in prayer for the missionaries to keep their ministry funds positive.

Even though the David Hawk family is now ministering in El Salvador, we were happy that they could join us for a few days of our activities.

Of course, Sunday afternoon and each evening were times for sports, games, and fun. During our meetings, we sang, prayed, and ate together.
