Sports Program

Category: General

Toward the end of February we started our first sport league. Futbolito; soccer played on a small field. We have ten teams with ten players on each team. We play three times a week, usually starting at 6:00pm.

Jerry and Travis with some of the team members.

Recently the high school graduating class at El Sembrador wanted to have a fund raiser. They had a small soccer tournament and sold refreshments, snacks and sandwiches. It was a great success they made $250.00 which will be used for their class trip.

William, from La Esperanza. Can you tell he and his friends got a hold of my camera??

Danny, collecting palms for the top of their "concession stand".

Some of the students made the concession stand area.

Special Discipleship Service

Category: General

All of the students at El Sembrador are divided into eight groups for a discipleship class. Each class has at least one staff member and one Bible student who teach the Bible lessons to the students.

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening the groups meet to learn about the Bible and how it needs to be the guide for their life. Almost half of the students do not know Jesus as their Savior so meeting regularly gives them many opportunities to change their lives for Him.

We have 16 of the youngest students in class with two Bible students and two other adults helping. We have enjoyed watching the boys grow in the Lord each session.

Once a month one of the classes are in charge of a joint service in the church. Since Easter had just passed our class wanted to do a drama on the Resurrection. All the students in our group took part of the service.

Luis

Jerry did a welcome while Luis, the other adult leader and one of the two counselors on campus, gave the scripture reading.

Our two Bible student helpers sang a special song.

Manuel

Mario

All of the other students participated in the drama.

What a powerful message given about Jesus dying on the cross and yet arose!!!

Praise the Lord he is with us today!!

We were very proud of our young boys as they perfomed the play with all their hearts!

Sunrise Service

Category: General

The students had a break during the week of Easter to visit family members. All of the missionaries in Honduras for World Gospel Mission attended our Annual Conference in Tegucigalpa to discuss business items and have some times of fellowshipping together.

After returning to El Sembrador the staff who were on campus had a special sunrise service to celebrate our risen Lord. It was a special time to come together with some of the staff to celebrate such a special occasion.

David Quiroz, the pastor at El Sembrador gave a short message for the sunrise service.

The following is a progress of the dorm as the construction crew at El Sembrador continued after the first team worked on the dorm.

First Construction Team

Category: General

In February Escuela El Sembrador hosted the first construction team which worked on the new boys dorm project.

The dorm is one of the older buildings on campus, which is being renovated. Teams will work on half of the building at a time because the other half is still needed to house students. The first team was from Ohio.

The team removed some of the old roof.

They poured concrete,

laid plumbing, and

extended walls. The group worked very hard, during hot days. We thank them for all their hard work!

Birthday Party

We recently had a birthday party for the students having birthdays in Jan. & Feb.

There was music, a short devotion from a Bible student, a game, gifts were given and then afterwards the Feminil, our ladies group on campus, served cupcakes and drinks.
