Youth Talent Night
Category: General
During one of our practices the girls had to have their picture taken with Jerry.
Ada, Alberto and Merlin. Alberto is one of the boys in our youth group that attended El Sembrador this year. We have really enjoyed having him during his vacation.
The youth invited 10 of our local Evangelical churches to participate in the talent night held in the multipurpose building.
No prizes were given, just a time of coming together and praising the Lord using the talents He has given. Each church participated through music, dancing, and dramas.
Many of the churches shared their musical talents.
Mas Que Vencedores, our church, presented a "country western" dance to a Christian song, God is Good, which was performed by several of our younger girls, a special duet, and a drama on the Resurrection as the finale.

Alberto also performed in the drama.
Our pastor's wife, Carminda, gave a short devotion at the end and then brought all the youth forward that represented all the churches and had special prayer.

Youth Bonfire
Category: General
We have seen some of our older youth mature to wonderful youth leaders. They come to our house once a month and plan activities for each Saturday for the youth service. For November they had planned a movie night, a bonfire and a talent show in hopes of drawing other people in from the community. Their prayers and hard work were not in vain.
The bonfire was held at a perfect location. It was an area where a rock wall was the backdrop for Christian videos to be played while the youth were arriving.
Alexander and Tania
The game Jerry had for the youth was for each team player to pull out an item from a paper bag that was wrapped and then eat it. There were various items...baby food, cookies, sardines, vienna sausages, etc. The team that finished eating all their items won!
After games and Chinese food for all, our future pastor, Raul, gave a powerful message to the youth and four gave their lives or recommitted their lives to the Lord!!! Praise the Lord! It was a special evening.

The graduation was a time of honoring them because of their hard work on their studies the past three years. They were able to see fruits from their labor. What a privilege to see these young ladies mature each year and desire to continue with their education. Our prayer is they desire to have the Lord direct their paths.
Baby Dedication
Category: General
On a cold, brisk morning we recently had an opportunity to stand with Tania as she dedicated Abraham to the Lord. We have seen Tania grow in the Lord through this time of mothering Abraham and see the importance she places on raising him in a Christian home. She continues to attend church with him, and with her frequent visits to our home shares how she reads the Bible to him and desires for him to know the Lord.
We are proud of her as she has work hard this year in the eighth grade. She was committed in studying and attending her classes. Tania also plans to continue with ninth grade next year. She knows the importance of prayer and is aware that many of you are praying for her.
Eight month old Abraham. How precious!

El Sembrador Graduation
Category: General
We attended the graduation at El Sembrador recently and were able to see 20 graduate from the ninth grade. What a special day for them to see the fruit from all their studies. We had two boys from our youth group this year attend El Sembrador so we were able to pack up their items for them to return to La Esperanza during this vacation time. They will return in January for a new school year along with others from La Esperanza. We are thankful for God's faithfulness in helping these young men this year through the transition of a new area, new climate and new friends. It has been good to have them join our youth activities again.

The missionary ladies here in Honduras had an opportunity to come together with a retreat in a little pueblo outside of Tegucigalpa. We enjoyed hearing and learning from the book, "Having a Mary Spirit" by Joanna Weaver through our speakers.

The weekend was filled with games, a craft, devotions and special times of sharing.

Esau and Rocio's Wedding
Category: General
On October 20th we attended a wedding of a couple from the church we attended in Tegucigalpa while studying Spanish. It was nice to have an opportunity to see all our friends from Berea Church. We continue to miss fellowshipping with them. Esau and Rocio were part of the youth group, as well as part of our Friday Bible study group. It was a great joy to see these two young people pledge their love and commitment to God. The bride's father was able to marry them who was also the pastor at the time we were in the church. Afterwards there was a beautiful reception with a wonderful time of sharing, eating and honoring the new couple.
What a beautiful bride!!
Prayer Team
Category: General
We were honored to have a prayer team from Ohio visit us in La Esperanza.
Their goal was to visit each pastor in the Santidad Church and pray for their needs as a pastor and as a family.
The team having prayer with the Central Church leadership, Pastor Osael and his wife.
As you recall the Central church has a primary school. The first year we were in La Esperanza we taught English classes. The children gathered around the prayer team and had prayer for them as well as sharing songs.
The Central Church is also building a new bilingual school a little out of town. The team went to the property and prayed blessings on the school.
Yamaranguila was the next stop to pray for Pastor Alfredo and his wife Jenny.
The El Way Church, if you remember, is the church the teams this summer has helped to build classrooms and finish the flooring for the inside of the church. Pastor Ulices will be returning from the states on November 7th. He has been there helping lead a Hispanic church in Kentucky. So Doris, his wife, represented the church. Our field director, Terry Hawk, is translating.
Some of the leadership sharing praises with the team.
The team also visited Pastor Dany and Carminda in their home and then participated in our Tuesday's service where they prayed for Mas Que Vencedores church too.
What an encouragement this prayer team was to us and the churches here in La Esperanza.
Unexpected Medical Brigade
Category: General
As a missionary you have to be prepared to change the course of your day. Recently with all the rains we have had in La Esperanza we were contacted by our national church in town to possibly host a medical brigade of around 30. The brigade was to serve the people in the frontier but with the rains they were unable to go. So we helped the team set up various areas on the property to minister and serve the people here in our neighborhood. A friend in town was contacted to provide a bus shuttle of people from town out to the property to receive care. The team was busy all day throughout all the stations even though it was a rainy, cold, dreary day. They provided eye care, medical care, and dentistry. An evangelism and children's ministry were offered as well.
