Honoring Two Special Graduates

Category: General

We wanted to take the time to show the two graduates how proud we were of them. So for our youth time on Saturday night we celebrated the graduations of Iris and Ena. We played games, had a devotion from our pastor, Dany and our youth leader led a prayer for both ladies. Gifts were presented to each and then everyone ate cake.

Iris and Ena both talked with the youth about how God had provided all their needs during their time of studies, even in the difficult times.

We know the Lord will continue to bless these two special ladies. They are committed in serving Him and using their talents and gifts for Him.

A Trip to Magdalena

Category: General

A little over three hours from La Esperanza is a town called Magdalena. Eight men from our church went to join with one of our other national churches to have a time for the men to share their struggles and pray for one another. All together there were 22 men singing praises to the Lord, asking for forgiveness and being encouraged as each one was prayed for.

The trip to get there was interesting and filled with some beautiful scenery. Although the distant was only about 60 miles, it took 5 ½ hours. That included two flat tires. Coffee and sweetbread were offered from the house we stopped at to wait for help to come. Then as we continued on we stopped at Pastor Dany's mother in laws house for more coffee and snacks.

Jerry and Pastor Raul

Saturday morning Jerry was blessed and honored to be asked by Pastor Raul, the pastor at Magdalena, to help with baptizing 12 new believers.

Day of the Bible

Category: General

Day of the Bible is celebrated here in Honduras. It is a day the Evangelical churches gather together to celebrate their life in Christ and to proclaim His name to others. There are many banners with scriptures, songs of praise and floats.

The people of Mas Que Vencedores gathered about a mile out of town with the other churches to begin the parade into town.

Beginning  our walk into town with prayer.

Along the way the children in our church passed out tracts to the people watching.

Once in town a service was provided with preaching and music. What a joy to see all the people praising our Lord.

An added blessing was the men from the Alcohol Rehabilitation Center made a sign which said, "The Word of God is perfect and changes hearts." There were 14 men who walked representing the Center and proclaiming victory in their lives through Christ. There was no doubt which ones they were because they all wore the same shirt. What an example to those who suffer from alcoholism in La Esperanza! We pray others realize the need for Christ in their lives to overcome this huge problem in our area.
